Maybe it was our relatively warm fall. Maybe it was the “instant winter” as we were hit by not one but two blizzards. But suddenly Christmas has come and gone, and here we are on the verge of another new year.
By way of this blog, I’ve tried over the past year to offer a fresh perspective on several design and marketing topics. We’ve given you our opinions and shared our thoughts and ideas. Now it’s your turn.
Greg Daake, principal and founder of DAAKE Design in Omaha, has been named one of the Midlands Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” young entrepreneurs for 2009.
The annual award is given to individuals based on their “creative leadership and growth of their company or organization under their direction.” Recipients will receive plaques during an awards breakfast Dec. 11 at the Omaha Marriott Hotel in Regency.
Children’s Hospital & Medical Center won two Best of Show awards at the 2009 Healthleaders Media Marketing Awards, as well as a platinum and a gold award at the 2009 MARCOM awards for pieces DAAKE designed. Among the winners were their new Corporate Branding, an Advertising Campaign, and two Community Relations Campaigns/Annual Reports.
Three of DAAKE's healthcare clients won 13 Aster Awards and nine Healthcare Marketing Awards for DAAKE-designed pieces. Winning entries included Annual Reports, Billboards, Newsletters, Logo Design/Stationery, Print Advertising Campaigns, Magazine Design, Professional Recruitment and Special Event Marketing. A Judge’s Choice Aster Award and a Best of Show Healthcare Marketing Award for Special Event Marketing were among the commendations.
The 16th Annual Nebraska Addy Awards, the industry's largest and most represented competition, honored DAAKE with three Addys for their 2008 work with Omaha Print and The Rose Blumkin Performing Arts Center.
DAAKE has launched a microsite devoted to accepting applications for our Summer 2009 Design Intern position. Potential interns are encouraged to apply.
DAAKE partnered with Children's Hospital & Medical Center to develop and design their new identity, new name and a new brand highlighting their expertise, growth, and more than 60 years of service to children.
Our recent Children's Hospital ad campaign, produced in collaboration with Bendtsen and Company, is featured in the July/August edition of HealthCare Advertising Review.
DAAKE has just launched a site re-design focusing on a more streamlined user experience.
